It’s Fathers Day this weekend… Come on Down!

Welcome!

Caudo Vineyard is forever changing, bringing new things and advancing in the industry. It was only three years ago that this little boat shed on the Murray River was converted into one of the states most stunning Cellar Doors with river access- and now it’s famously known for pouring the best Sangria on tap!

What better way to keep you; the Riverland regulars, holiday makers, wine enthusiasts and loyal Sangria lovers, up to date with what happening here – The Caudo Lifestyle Blog. We will give you weekly weather updates, let you know happening at Caudo Vineyard, promotions and upcoming events both in the Cellar Door and in your local area.

We hope you enjoy.

Weekend Weather forecast

Hello Spring!

The gardens at the cellar door are popping with colour and the wildlife here is just incredible. Trying to keep Lachie (the cellar door border collie) away from the new ducklings has been a challenge. Besides death-like hay fever symptoms, the vineyard hasn’t looked more alive.

While it has been a little cool lately, the sun has been shining and it’s about time to pull the shorts out from the back of the draw. No doubt your legs are looking like something from Disney’s Frozen movie, so a little sun this weekend won’t hurt.

The weather for the next few days leading into the weekend is looking fine as it slowly warms up. Saturday is going to be a brilliant day, dead calm and reaching a top of 19 degrees. Sunday is looking much the same.

What’s happening at the Cellar door?

Saturday looks like a great day to get out and enjoy the weather. If football isn’t your scene, come out to the Cellar Door (15mins from Waikerie Oval) and enjoy one of our local tasting platters or relax with a freshly roasted coffee.

Sunday is Father’s Day- skip the socks and jocks this year and bring dad to Caudos. We have
happy hour between 12-2pm and will be giving dads FREE pints of Four Pines beer. Please note; child may be requested on service as evidence of fatherhood. We are calling in locals Trendy and Wayne to entertain for the afternoon. It will be an awesome day so bring the footy for a kick on the lawn or have a go at Finska (ask the bar staff about that one).

Brand new toilets are the next big move for us. HOORAY! It has been such a rollercoaster to get things moving and we can’t thank our patrons enough for your patience with our current toilets. It will be a sad day to fairwell those royal thrones. With no hick ups, the new ones will be in and functioning before summer. Keep you posted.

Wine/Products

In August we introduced three brand new wines to the Caudo Vineyard range; Semillon Chardonnay 2015, Rose 2014 and Tempranillo 2014. The feedback we are getting from you guys has been phenomenal and we love hearing about it- so keep it coming. The wines are now for sale in the cellar door and can also be purchased online. Presale Mixed Case

What’s happening this weekend in the Riverland?

Waikerie Magpies take on Berri Demons at Waikerie Oval this Saturday for a spot in the Riverland A grade football grand finals. Waikerie B grade and U15s play in the preliminary finals also. The Waikerie Football Club is asking for a loud presence of Magpie supporters to come to cheer on the teams. Go the Pies!

RFL Independent grand final will be hosted by Ramco Football Club on Saturday. Browns Well vs Lyrup. For the full review on local sport see the River News.

The Waikerie Markets at Civic Centre Lawns- off Crush Terrace is on Saturday, the 5th, between 9am and 1pm. Grab some breaky or a coffee and check out the great variety of local produce and food stalls.

Are you going to the Royal Adelaide Show this year? It starts Friday, 4th to the 12th of September at the Adelaide Show Grounds. It’s one of the biggest events on the South Australian calendar and defiantly one not to be missed. www.theshow.com.au

Murray River Warning

Please be careful if you are on the river this weekend. We have a shallow water warning for you on the upper river side of Hogwash Bend. If you are in this area please keep to the outside of the bend. We have already rescued one house boat this week from the middle of the river.

Fun River Fact

The Murray is the third longest navigable river in the world with a total length of 2520km.

Caudo Vineyard History Fact
