March arrived bringing with it some beautiful Autumn weather and huge crowds to our Cellar Door.
The Adelaide Cup long weekend saw the annual Ski for Life event stop by for lunch on Saturday.
The river was like glass for the arrival of the many ski boats and their skiers.
This year marked 10 years since its inception and it has grown every year, 330 people were involved this time around. They have raised an incredible amount of money to help support a wide range of programs that align with their mission to raise awareness and promote mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention.
330 salad rolls were made in-house and served along with fresh fruit to the Ski for Lifers. They then made their way off to the next destination on their Run.
Saturday and Sunday of the long weekend bought us many visitors, both by boat and car. Sunday they were entertained by muso Ryan Stork. All of our tables were booked out on both days, but patrons still came along and found a piece of lawn to relax on and enjoy the music and our delicious food, wine, and Sangria, whilst taking in the picturesque views on the banks of the Mighty Murray River.
St Patrick’s Day was celebrated on the 17th which saw everything turn green – green beer, green Sangria, and even the staff dressed to impress in green.
Later in the month we had the Upper Snuggery Racing Team stop by our Cellar Door for lunch on one of their time trials throughout the State. 25 cars with 55 people on board called in and thoroughly enjoyed their time spent with us. It was a great sight to see all of these cars lined up on the lawns.
Once again a very busy month for our Cellar Door here in the Riverland – it is wonderful to see so many people out and about and enjoying time away with family and friends.
