Mad May

May began with quite mild weather—perfect for Mother’s day celebrations at our Cellar Door.
Mums were treated to a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival and flowers and chocolates on their tables.
We also ran a free entry raffle, where the winner received a 3ltr Magnum of our Tempranillo red wine.

We were lucky enough to have the Prince Alfred Band come to our Cellar Door on Saturday to entertain
our patrons. This band was a sight to behold. With the Murray River as a backdrop, they played their way through many sets to much applause and appreciation.

Every year, the Caudo property transforms for a weekend to hold True Grit, the military-inspired obstacle course. After a bit of a lull due to Covid, it was back bigger and better than ever this year. The event attracts competitors from all across Australia and this year saw almost 3000 individuals take part. The race began with fire cannons sending streams of fire into the sky. The varying terrain provided a diverse range of challenges, with runners traversing through our vineyards, sand dunes, mud, and scrub to complete the course. Covered in dirt, mud, and sand, eager competitors finished the gruelling track with lots of laughs, flying down a slide into the river. At the finish line, they were greeted with celebratory shots of Caudo Sangria and Gage Road beers.
Participants and onlookers then relaxed on the lawns by the Murray River, with lots of food and drink and
entertainment—what a great spectacle this day is.

Caudo Cellar Door participated in the Biggest Morning Tea this year—held on the 19th of May.
This event raises vital funds each year for the Cancer Council. Although we didn’t get the numbers we would have liked we still managed to raise a small amount —every little bit helps!
May has once again been a month packed full of fun, and we’ve enjoyed every moment of it.
We are now looking forward to cozy catch-ups with friends and family as winter approaches.
We’ll see you here to soak up the river views and relaxing vibes soon!
