We had the Cellar Door packed to the rafters to bring in the New Year! We only opened at midday but our customers were out and about and ready to spend some time by the river just relaxing and enjoying their summer holidays.
New Year’s Day was a hot one that saw many patrons taking to the waters of the river for a quick dip to cool themselves down. It’s so great to see everyone come together and use the beautiful Riverland weather to forget the troubles of 2021 and enjoy some quality summer fun with their family and friends by the river.
We had a new jazz band – “5 Sided Cube” – come to play for us the following weekend.
They were great and added another dimension to our outdoor venue. They will be back for sure!
The week of the 10th saw our area hit with strong winds, heavy rainfall and hail, not once but twice in one week!! Fortunately for us, we were spared any damage, unlike some neighbouring vineyards and properties, which were devastated with wind and hail damage and minor flooding.
It was an extremely hot, humid and testing week for everyone.
Australia Day came around all too quickly. Falling on a Wednesday this year, we had the very popular and talented Acoustic Joe come to entertain our swelling crowds. This was another very hot day and much Sangria, wine and beer were consumed whilst listening to Joe’s tunes and enjoying our wood-fired pizzas and other delicious food on the banks of the mighty Murray River.
We are extremely positive and excited for the things to come in 2022 and can’t wait to see you soon at our beautiful Cellar Door.
