FABULOUS FEBRUARY

Our grape harvest finally got underway at the beginning of the month. The cool mornings and warm days were perfect for the berries to come off nicely.

School holidays finished so the Cellar Door quietened down a little during the week but we still had great crowds spending time with us on the weekends.

Early in the month, after much insistence from some of our patrons, we introduced our “Singles Night”. This was held on a beautiful barmy Friday evening, where patrons were served up free platters on arrival and then the mingling began. The bar staff had traffic light jelly shots prepared as a point of difference and these, along with our Sangria and pizzas went down a treat. The sun setting over the majestic Murray river was the perfect end to a fun night.

February saw the bottling of our three new red varietals – Shiraz, Merlot and Shiraz Cabernet – as well as our Tawny Port. These will all be perfect for the upcoming winter months and are available now at the Cellar Door will be up on our website soon.

As Valentines Day fell on a Monday this year, we chose to celebrate it on Sunday before. A special “Love Punch” cocktail jug was created and served to both couples and singles alike and proved to be quite popular on the day.

February seemed to fly by, no sooner had it begun, than it was done and now Summer is over and the beautiful Riverland Autumn weather is about to begin – the perfect time for a visit – we hope to see you soon!

Regretfully due to the damage we received to our grounds and buildings from the 2022 River Murray floods, our Cellar door is now PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
