JULY AND AUGUST AT CAUDO

July was a big month at Caudo, the Big Shed Wine sale took place and saw fantastic offers on a wide range of our wines.

July was a big month at Caudo, the Big Shed Wine sale took place and saw fantastic offers on a wide range of our wines.

Many happy customers travelled to our wine shed from far and wide to pick up boxes of their favourites, and to try some new ones, to take home and share with family and friends.

It’s an exciting time here at Caudo as we phase out our current wines and look forward to bringing in our new vintage later this year. Keep your eyes peeled for their release in early Summer this year.

We experienced a lot of wet and cold weather which gave everything a good soaking, including our citrus trees and vines. As usual, we experienced an array of local wildlife making appearances, including little frogs, ducks, pelicans and native birds. Our vineyard crew are monitoring the vines throughout the changing weather patterns in order to produce the finest quality fruit possible for our next vintage.

Additionally, like the majority of businesses, we undertook the implementation of new COVID safe restrictions, and measures to maximise safety for our patrons and staff. This included a small lock-down for all of South Australia. We thank all of our loyal customers for their understanding and patience during this unpredictable time.

In August we were closed for 3 weeks as we undertook maintenance work and renovations at our Cellar Door and various eating and drinking areas. This included fresh paint, TLC for our lawns, new umbrellas, revarnished decks and bituminised roads in and around the Cellar Door. We had a big reopening weekend, with patrons enjoying their return to the riverside for fresh sangrias and wood-oven pizzas. Our kitchen now has fresh scones with jam and cream available on certain days to enjoy with a hot drink overlooking the water. We listened to the Riverland Brass Band club and had a Hot Rod car club arrive with an array of fantastic vintage cars in beautiful conditions.

We’re enjoying the last of the winter rains and freshness before spring rolls in, and we look forward to seeing you for a visit soon!
