We enjoyed sunshine and showers throughout October here in the Riverland and we hosted a handful of significant events at our Cellar Door.
On the 27th, we were entertained by the “Australian Roadies”, a band featuring the lovely Beccy Cole. They stopped by our Cellar Door for lunch and to play amongst the backdrop of gum trees on the banks of the Murray River.
On the 31st we celebrated the Day of the Dead. We ran a competition for best dressed and awarded prizes to a Mum and daughter duo. The daughter wore a sugar skull patterned dress, her face painted as a sugar skull, with elaborate swirls and lines. “Confidential Catering” offered our crowd an alternative with a Mexican feast- chicken, pulled pork, slow-cooked brisket beef and bean tacos and nacho boxes. These were complemented with corn chips, salsa, sauces, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Pepper dashed fries and grilled corn was also on offer to keep the patrons well fed. Our Cellar Door was decked out in spooky decorations and our staff wore flower crowns to set the theme. We launched our new “Dusk til Dawn” jugs. These are made with our Mediterranean Fiesta red wine- a blend of Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Shiraz, stirred with secret ingredients and topped with citrus.
We also introduced an exciting new special – a buy one, get one free deal on our cases of Sangria. Each case contains 12 of the 640ml bottles. Upon purchase of one case ($120), we are throwing in another for free. It can be any flavour of your choice- Pina Colada, Butterscotch & Citrus, Froot Tingler or Lime-Gelo. We’re even throwing in a pair of Sangria branded thongs per deal- perfect for Summer when it arrives.
Final tastings of our new white varietals were done, ready for bottling in early November. Stay tuned for these new additions to our drinks list, arriving later this Summer.
