SEPTEMBER HAS SPRUNG

September arrived with some rainy days, but also its fair share of warmth and sunshine, ideal for our developing vines. We welcomed Spring with a variety of events. Fathers Day was first cab off the rank where we had the lovely Bianca Feher entertain all the dads with her acoustic vibes. On the 14th, the much loved and iconic Murray Princess once again stopped into our Cellar Door, back on track with their monthly visits after a bit of a Covid lockdown for them. Their passengers sampled our wines, sangrias and local produce from our tasting platters.

We introduced our wine and Sangria tasting paddles, which have become very popular—a great way to sample a selection of our wine varietals or our Sangria, before deciding what to take home.
The Big Screen was put in place on the riverfront in time for the AFL Grand Final pre-game. Patrons were able to enjoy their lunch overlooking the river, as well as keeping up to date before the big game.
Twister Ski Shop organised the Old School Boat run, from Morgan to Caudo, which saw a plethora of brightly coloured vintage ski boats line the banks and their owners enjoy a great day relaxing and sharing stories together over a beverage or two.

The long weekend was a busy one, where friends and family came together to bask in the beautiful Saturday weather and enjoy a cooler Sunday. Both days saw the Cellar Door booked to capacity once again. We had a fantastic band, The Four Reasons, playing covers of old school classic 70s and 80s hits, entertaining our crowds. We also had an addition to our food menu of delicious mouth-watering lamb and pork spit roast rolls, which went down a treat.

Our merchandise tent was set up on the lawns selling trackies, hoodies and rugby jumpers to accommodate the cooler Spring weather, as well as crop tops, singlets and dresses as we begin to move into summer. We sold out of our Caudo brand face masks.

September also saw the completion of the pruning of our vines, and the picking of our citrus from our orange, lemons, mandarins and tangelo trees. The smell of the orange blossom in September is something to behold.

We look forward to seeing you here to enjoy the warmer weather soon!

Regretfully due to the damage we received to our grounds and buildings from the 2022 River Murray floods, our Cellar door is now PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

But don’t be dismayed….

You can still get your favourite Caudo products in our online store!
