The end of 2020 meant the start of summer and the start of summer meant the start of school holidays. This has to be one of the best times of the year at Caudo Vineyard with so many friends and families (including their puppies) eager to come and chill out at our beautiful riverside venue.
On the 20th of December, we celebrated national Sangria Day, which is a national festivity that is very close to our hearts. For this, we organised a ‘Sangria Special’ which included a carton of our Sangria, to the flavour of the customers’ choice, for $99.00 with a free Sangria Sombrero thrown in. To make the day even more festive, we had DJ Luke busting out some tunes. He is always a hit with our customers. His groovy tunes set a cheerful party spirit like no other.
The sunshine December brought us was an uplifting aspect to a bit of a stressful year with Covid-19. We all know that sun and a cool beverage go hand and hand and with that, we created some ultra-refreshing ‘Summer Quencher’ Cocktail jugs. These are made with your flavour choice of Sangria, some of our ‘smokey-sweet’ spiced rum and topped with lemonade. The ultimate summer thirst quencher! These cocktails paired a treat with our wood-fired pizzas, which we had available every day.
I think we were all surprised at how fast Christmas approached. Our staff certainly enjoyed the day off to rest and recoup after the busy lead-up. To allow friends and families to carry on their Christmas celebrations, we re-opened the Cellar Door from 12:00pm on Boxing Day. Our staff took care of their food and drinks, all our patrons had to do was soak up the sunshine and enjoy their day by the stunning Murray River.
We love the atmosphere that the school holidays bring to our Cellar Door. Patrons are able to put their worries and angst aside, enjoy a refreshing beverage, a nice lunch, catch up with loved ones and switch into complete holiday mode. We hope that everyone is having a safe and happy New Year.
